The Eagles superfan who wrecked his knee from a chest bump with Jason Kelce provided an update on his condition after the accident.
Kelce, who retired from the NFL in March, returned to the Eagles’ home turf as an analyst for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. While enjoying the pregame festivities, Kelce and Rob Dunphy decided to bump chests on stage, before the latter buckled his knee upon landing.
On Tuesday night, Dunphy took to social media, saying he got some x-rays done and the results said ‘Man the f*** up.’ Dunphy also added that he hopes to get an MRI done in the next few days but will be getting around on crutches in the meantime.
‘My knee has seen better days, I’m in good spirits though,’ Dunphy said. ‘I’m just a little banged up, I’ll be alright. It’s not the end of the world.’
‘My x-rays came back, pretty much said ‘Man the f*** up,’ he added.
The viral tatted fan revealed several people reached out to him after the chest bump, including the future Hall of Fame center.
‘Jason Kelce did reach out,’ Dunphy said. ‘Jason Kelce is the man. His whole team is amazing.’
Despite the injury, Dunphy expressed his gratitude for the experience and said he would do it again.
‘They’re helping me live out every Eagles fan’s dream,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t thank them enough. It’s really super cool. It’s amazing, to be honest with you. I would do it again.’
Kelce, who was also seen dancing and throwing beer cans at fans during the festivities, denied drinking during Monday Night Countdown.
He added that despite tossing about 100 beers, he did not consume one. However, Kelce acknowledged the difficulty of fighting temptation.
‘Do you know how hard that was?’ he asked, adding, ‘I’m a professional, Travis. I don’t mess around.’
Nonetheless, Kelce gave the superfan a life-changing memory, while the rest of the fanbase made sure he’s in good condition.
‘It’s pretty cool that the Eagles fanbase shows me love,’ Dunphy said. ‘Philly shows me love. It’s pretty cool.’
